General Safety Information
We carefully design our products, send them through a year of focus study with a team of parents, then send them off for testing by a third party laboratory facility. We specifically test our materials and coatings frequently to be sure our accessories meet or exceed government recommendations limiting heavy metals, lead and phthalates in children’s items. None of our products contain loose pieces or removable parts that could pose a choking hazard for young children. Even our zippers are oversized and finger-friendly for little hands. All passing results are verified by 3rd party independently accredited testing laboratories, considered to be the best in the industry.

Tot Cot® Nap Mats
Flame-resistant chemicals are never applied to our nap mats. The outer fabric of the Tot Cot® is a 65%/35% poly cotton weave and conform to, or exceed, U.S. flammability test requirements.

Packie™ Backpacks
Our Packie™ backpack is constructed of 65%poly/35% cotton broadcloth and laminated with a custom-patented EVA surface. Our materials are all CPS compliant, are PVC-free, phthalate-free, chlorine-free and non-toxic. Backpacks are subjected to strength testing to ensure that the material can support the average toddler (ages 2-5) daily needs.

Yummie™ Lunch boxes
Our Yummie™ lunch bag is constructed of 65%poly/35% cotton broadcloth and laminated with a custom-patented EVA surface on the outside. The inner lining is constructed of food-safe PEVA. All materials are all CPS compliant, are PVC-free, phthalate-free, chlorine-free and non-toxic.

Chunky™ Chalk
All of our chunky chalk palettes (including glitter) are produced with a propriety mix of non-toxic pigments. All of our chalk line is certified compliant with the US Toxicologist Board - for TRA (Toxicological Risk Assessment) and is LHAMA (ASTM D-4236) compliant. Our chalk is also Consumer Product Safety Commission tested (including lead testing), and is CPSIA compliant. Our glitter chalk contains less than .000017 percent of biodegradable glitter particles. Our Urban Infant Sidewalk Chalk is a molded chalk that is intended for use on sidewalk surfaces (verses chalkboards). It does not include calcium carbonate.

URN Law Labels For Stuffed ProductsMaterial content transparency for all Urban Infant products is of utmost importance to our company. All stuffed articles in our collections have a Uniform Registry Number (URN) and feature law labels (as shown below) legally required in the United States for consumer protection. We remain compliant 365 days a year and have a team that monitors all changing laws and regulations, as the requirements vary from state-to-state. We applaud the states' laws as they continue to enforce increasing transparency of any element inside a product that the shopper cannot view or touch.
