The Urban Infant Inc. is a Chicago-based energetic and growing company owned by a brother-sister team. The focus of the company is design and manufacturing of products for kids ages 2-6 years old; we are specifically known for “preschool products reinvented.” The company sells B2C to US parents as well as B2B to daycare and preschool account. Therefore, all daily tasks and corporate culture is centered around assisting mothers and childcare centers to make their day better, easier, and to keep us all laughing. Caring for toddlers is not an easy job. Our corporate awards include the National Parenting Seal of Approval, Graphic Design USA Packaging Award, and the Mom’s Choice Award.
Job Opening Q2 2021We have an opening for a part-time Customer Relations Manager/Catch-All Assistant. Our business picks up speed during the back-to-school season (July, August, September) therefore looking to hire someone in May or June 2021. Preferably seeking someone in Chicago, but not opposed to structuring the position as a remote job for the right applicant. Should you reside in Chicago, we provide a work station at our design studio.
Estimated 5-8 hours a week (20-32 hours month).

Maintain contact with current school accounts, touching base on a semi-annual basis.
Enter new customers to the CRM base, send them samples, proactively follow-up.
Monitor and respond to social media accounts and answer product-related inquires and issues.

Generate monthly B2B reports from
Attend 1 national trade show, tbd with current covid status.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field
Experience in a daycare or preschool setting is helpful, but not necessary
Experience in customer service is helpful, but not necessary
Excellent verbal communication skills
Proficiency in eCommerce software – training provided
Proficiency in Zoho or comparable CRM software – training provided

The job is currently structured as a part-time, pay structure ranges based on skills
Training provided in corporate culture, product line, eCommerce, and CRM software.
The design and sales office is located in the Kingsbury Corridor, Chicago, Illinois
