All Urban Infant products are packaged in Earthcycle trays, composed of Palm Pulp. It is biodegradable, nongenetically modified and certified compostable (ASTM D6400). Just toss it in your backyard and it will compost in less than 90 days, decomposing into an organic soil component, humus.
RECLAIMED MOUNTAIN CLIMBING ROPE
In an effort to recycle materials that would typically end up in a landfill, The Urban Infant has designed several products manufactured from
retired mountain climbing rope. By reworking this rope into new innovative products we are extending the material's value far beyond its initial usage - following a cradle-to-cradle design model.
RECYCLED PET FLEECE ON THE TOT COT
We are happy to announce, after months of sourcing and testing, our new line of Tot Cot sleeping bags for children are produced with a blanket composed of recycled PET plastic bottles! It is estimated each blanket saves approximately 39 bottles from a landfill.
FUSED PLASTIC BIBS
Each fused plastic bib is made by taking 5-6 layers of post-consumer plastic bags and fusing them together with heat, transforming them into a fun, waterproof, and eco-friendly product.
BAMBOO UTENSILS
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant the world, capable of growing up to 60cm (24in) or more per day due to a unique rhizome-dependent system. This rapid regeneration is what makes bamboo one of the most sustainable wood options. The Urban Infant works with a factory that uses pressed bamboo scraps for their products.
